Organizing a Corner Computer Desk With Hutch

Corner PC Desk

After months of neglect, your corner computer desk with hutch has become extremely disorganized. It’s gotten so bad that you can’t find anything anymore, and your productivity has fallen right off of the proverbial cliff. It’s really bad when you consider the fact that you purchased the desk with a hutch so that it would help you to stay organized. This article will outline a general procedure by which you can organize your desk, so that it stays clean, and so that things are easier to find.

The first thing that you need to do is take everything off of the desk. Empty out the hutch and all of the drawers. Get everything out. Don’t try to organize your way around any of the chaos. The whole point of this exercise is to remove the chaos. Once you have done that, dust off your corner computer desk with hutch. Do the same for all of the storage compartments. Get everything as clean as possible. computer desk with hutch

Sort everything in terms of like similarities. Throw away everything that you don’t need. Don’t put back any trash that you’ll just have to work around later. When you look at some of your items, determine whether some of them would be a better fit somewhere else.

For instance, if you have piles of paperwork, sort it and put it away in a file cabinet, or shred it. It really shouldn’t go on your work surface. Reserve your desk surface for frequently-used items, like the monitor, keyboard, and telephone. Items that are used less frequently can be put in the hutch.

Small items like paper clips and push pins can be stored in small plastic containers that can be found at virtually any office supply store. While you’re at the store, buy some of those plastic file holders that you can screw onto the side of your desk.

If you have a compact glass computer desk, you may be able to fasten the file holders with a putty-style adhesive like Fun-Tak. That way, you can sort incoming and outgoing paperwork in those file holders and keep it all off of your desk.

Once you have decided what you are going to put back on your desk with hutch, assign a place for each item and put it there. Now that you have organized your computer desk with hutch, you need to keep it that way. That means putting everything back where you got it immediately after using it. If you don’t do this, you may find yourself reading this article again a few months from now.
